ReturnGuard does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
The purchase details you enter yourself — store name, item name, price, purchase date, and deadline. This information is saved only in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) and never leaves your device. It is not sent to any server operated by us or anyone else.
When you open the popup, it reads the hostname and tab title of your currently active tab (e.g. "amazon.com") purely to suggest a store name, item name, and return-window default. This happens only at the moment you open the popup and is never stored or transmitted.
Reminders are generated and shown entirely on your device using Chrome's built-in notifications API, based on the dates you entered and the check-frequency setting you choose in the extension.
This extension does not use analytics, advertising, or any third-party tracking services.
If a future version changes any of this — for example, adding an optional cloud-sync or email-scanning feature — this policy will be updated before that version is released, and any new data use will be opt-in.
